Mommy had a ruptured appendix and could have died if she kept neglecting it. She has been recovering and Grammy came out from Arkansas to help take care of Hunter. Aunt Jem came over and did an impromptu photo shoot. This is just one of the beautiful moments she captured. Hunter Ray graced us with his presence at 3:40p.m. He weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 inches (almost). He is blonde and adorable. Mommy caved on the epidural and decided drugs were good. So she was feeling pretty good throughout the ordeal once the epidural kicked in. While Aunt Jem (Jenn) took photographs, Aunt Chelle videotaped. During the birth the most amazing thing happened, everyone in the room started hearing frog sounds. "Ribbit, Ribbit." We all looked at each other while the nurse said, "You are not having a frog." It turns out that the Doctor's ringtone on his cell phone is frogs croaking. Pretty hilarious!!! The family is not scheduled to be home until Thursday. We are Melissa and Tad McKinney. Right now we have two adorable additions to our family, Grizzly and Harley, but we have an addition of the human kind on the way. As we await the arrival of Hunter Ray (yes, it's a boy), we are taking in the moments. Tad recently celebrated his 43rd birthday in Sturgis with his motorcycle club, Soldier's for Jesus. Melissa is furiously working to get as much done as she can before the baby comes. We will be taking a trip to National with the motorcycle club at the end of August. We have a few months to get everything in order before Hunter comes.
